Komal recognizes the benefits of an inhouse quality assurance organization. The following key points outline our quality system.
Management Responsibility : Customer satisfaction surveys find that we are recognized by our customers as being extremely responsive. We are very proud of this as it confirms our dedication to our customer first attitude. Our organizational structure is functionally designed to focus on the customer. Our management review process involves top management evaluation of our quality system.
Quality System : We conduct quality planning to review our resources, technology, skills, equipment and process knowledge to ensure that we will meet or exceed all customer requirements. We follow a comprehensive quality planning process.
Control Review : We carefully review customer contracts to ensure that all requirements are thoroughly understood and are mutually agreed on.
Document and Data Control : At all stages, documents and data are controlled with revision. Numbers and Obsolete documents are removed as per norms to ensure that only latest revision is followed.
Purchasing : We have a system to conduct regular audits of all supplies. We have a program to certify new subcontrators.
Customer Supplied Products : All customers supplied products are kept safe.
Product Identification and Traceability : We use a system of tags and stickers to ensure proper product identification throughout all stages of production. Tractability for product is an available option.
Process Control : We have a strong manufacturing operation with related processes to ensure that customer requirements are met.
Inspection and Testing : We have inspection labs staffed with well trained inspectors performing receiving, in-process and final inspections. Records are kept for all related activities.
Calibration : We use database to manage an internal staff to periodically calibrate and certify company and employee owned tooling and to manage gauge R'&'R studies.
Corrective and Preventive Action : Our CA/PA process captures a variety of opportunities for improvement. Preventive action include trend information from a variety of sources. We also have a system to capture effectiveness of both corrective and preventative actions.
Handling, Storage, Packaging and Delivery : We have a good system to handle all items at all stages. We also have a dedicated staff of material handlers, shipping and receiving personnel.
We manufacture sheet metal components as per custom requirements and specifications out of all ferrous and non-ferrous materials. We have complete inhouse infrastructure for sheet metal components production in any volume and specifications. In our products section, we have shown the samples of our custom built components for automobile applications.
Now we have a wide range of products like Sheet Metal Covers, Pulleys, Silencers, Stays, Brackets, Footrests, Steps, Clips, Plates, Dry Schockers etc. The turnover has multiplied 10 times within a span of 10 years. Our plant is set up to handle both high and low volume production runs as well as prototypes, mechanical and high end assemblies. Komal operates out of 45000 sq. ft. facility employing 150 employees.
We have fully equipped automated Power Coating Plant located at Focal Point, Ludhiana which is one of its kind in this region. The plant has a conveyor and a baking chamber fitted with automatic diesel powered burner, to control the temperature. The plant is equipped with advanced spray chamber along with spray gun which add extra life to the paint. The plant is under the supervision of 10 fully qualified and technically well versed persons. We use the best available paint and other chemicals and there is no compromise with quality. The durability of the paint is long lasting because the temprature is controlled by thermostat. The paint is baked as per requirements. The plant has a capacity of 1,20,000 - 1,30,000 dm 2 /d a y. The plant has received its due appreciation as feedback from delegations visiting from India and various other countries. The plant is ISO certified no. ISO/TS 16949:2009.
